The cardiac catheterization laboratory has changed dramatically over the years as the focused has expanded from hemodynamic evaluation to include an extraordinary range of imaging modalities and rapidly increasing opportunities for therapeutic intervention. 

The fundamentals of cardiac catheterization, however, always remain the same. The focus is always on the patient with intense attention paid to medical and scientific principles, safety and quality, and promoting a team that is engaged and motivated to provide extraordinary care to patients and families. 

In this course, you will learn:

  • To be able to use coronary angiography to define coronary anatomy in appropriately selected patients in the cardiac catheterization laboratory
  • To determine coronary anatomy and vessel pathology
  • To adjust catheters and technique in patients based on specific coronary anatomy
  • To define methods and techniques that avoid complications during coronary angiography

Method and medium:

Learners participate in the interactive learning modules by correctly answering multiple choice questions dispersed throughout. Learners will be prompted to try again if a question is answered incorrectly.
